    The Computational Thinking Lab was invited to present "Importance of Small Language Models in Synthetic Electronic Health Record Generation" at IEEE EMBC 2026, held 26 to 30 July at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre under the conference theme "Engineer Sustainable and Equitable Healthcare."

    "Towards Automated Health Coaching Experience: Can Large Language Models Function as a Personalized Health Coach?" has been accepted to the 2026 IEEE Conference on Computational Intelligence in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology. The study asks whether a language model can deliver coaching grounded in behavior science well enough for clinicians to call it usable.

    "Importance of Small Language Models in Synthetic Electronic Health Record Generation" has been accepted to the 48th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society. The paper introduces FAIR-EHR, a framework for judging synthetic electronic health record generators on both statistical fidelity and privacy risk.
